The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) is wading very gingerly into the issue of immigration reform.
Immigration has long been an awkward issue for evangelicals. Most of the nation's large, politically influential evangelical organizations have either supported legislation that focuses on border enforcement and deporting illegal immigrants or have taken no position on the issue. But smaller white church groups and Hispanic evangelicals have supported what they consider more compassionate treatment of illegal immigrants, including a path to citizenship and streamlined procedures for reuniting separated families.
Anderson recently penned a forward to a new book, "Welcoming the Stranger," written by two staffers at World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the NAE. The book, which weaves together Bible teachings and statistics, presents a largely positive view of immigrants, legal and illegal.

One can't help but wonder why Christians today are working so hard to rebuild that which their God had thrown down, Babylon.
No doubt Christians would have protested against Gondor's racist war against Mordor and the returned King's eventual removal of all Orcs and other invaders from Western lands.

KNOXVILLE - The illegal immigrant accused of killing an Alabama homecoming queen in her West Knox County hotel room has been indicted on multiple charges.
In an indictment issued Tuesday, Valentino Vasquez Miranda is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, aggravated burglary, especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated rape and abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of Jennifer Lee Hampton, 21, who was in town helping to set up a new restaurant.
Miranda, 19 at the time, worked at the Days Inn on Lovell Road and is accused of using a master key card to access Hampton's room on Sept. 20.
Hampton's nude body was found Sept. 27 floating in Melton Hill Lake. She apparently had been strangled.
