Maybe Jesus came and "escaped" all the Christians from Earth a few years back. Being few in number though nobody noticed. A Greyhound bus probably could have picked all of them up.
Seriously, about the only thing that keeps me still entertaining the notions of God, the Bible etc... is the fact that the world today looks an awful lot like the "Great Tribulation". Which is to say it looks mighty f*&%ed up.

The Christian Churches are the most likely place where many will, in a few years hence, be brought and prosecuted for "hate" crimes.
Even the conservative Christian church is almost entirely within the Marxist sphere of thought in about 99% of their theology/philosophy/politics.
It is, after all, the Christians who are first among the Gentiles in leading the charge to rebuild Babel by supporting immigration, integration and miscegenation. That they believe these things to be natural and good (wherein their ancestors over the past 2,000 years considered them to be un-natural and evil) is testimony itself of the "new spirit" that has come upon Christianity in the past 40 years.
