You know, that lone character in the book or movie who knows things are wrong and must face down a society in opposition to the truth.
Most people like and admire those types of persons. Be they fictional or real; Jesus, Richard Kimble, Batman, Galileo etc... people like the one man against the world storyline.
And whereas most people like to imagine that they themselves would behave similarly in such circumstances, all evidence points to the contrary.
99.99999999% of people most definitely prefer to swim with the tide of whatever social/religious/political currents are the most prevalent.
Most people fear being socially ostracized for holding contrary views to the official state dogma of their society. That doesn't mean that they don't hold those contrary views, it just means they are loathe to having them exposed.
And this is true in families, churches, the work place, social engagements etc...
There are a few individuals who stand up against the prevailing tide and fight for truth at great cost to them personally and professianally. Prof. Keven MacDonald is one such person. As is Prof. Richard Lynn and Prof. Phillipe Rushton (see links at the side) among others.
When it comes to matters of race, the establishment enforces a conduct unbecoming of professionals by prevailing upon researches to conform their research to the official dogma of "equality".
Despite the mountains of evidence on the genetic basis of traits such as IQ and behavior, most researchers prefer to "interpret" their research towards a socially excepted conclusion which actually contradicts what the facts they've assembled point towards.
And this they do even though racial differences are observed on a daily basis by the average individual.
So it wasn't surprising to see the following story,
Faking scientific data and failing to report commercial conflicts of interest are far more prevalent than previously thought, a study suggests.
One in seven scientists says that they are aware of colleagues having seriously breached acceptable conduct by inventing results. And around 46 per cent say that they have observed fellow scientists engage in “questionable practices”, such as presenting data selectively or changing the conclusions of a study in response to pressure from a funding source. The findings, published in the peer-reviewed journal PLoS One, are based on a review of 21 scientific misconduct surveys carried out between 1986 and 2005. The results paint a picture of a profession in which dishonesty and misrepresentation are widespread.

The Scientific Process may be neutral but the individuals who employ it are susceptible to peer pressure, fear of social isolation, greed, ideological bias and so on.
As with the media, we must sift through the obligatory (if not compulsory) PC dogma laced throughout scientific studies to find the threads of truth.
Right now the subject of race is to 21st century Western Society what Sex was to the Victorian Age...Taboo.
But just as that artificial taboo fell, so to will the one regarding race.
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
