Why Only Certain Elected Officials Should Have Free Speech...

Nancy Pelosi makes the case,

Sept. 18 (Bloomberg) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi raised concern that some of the heated political rhetoric against President Barack Obama’s policies may incite emotionally unstable people to acts of violence.

People who make political speeches “have to take responsibility for any incitement that they may cause,” Pelosi, a California Democrat, told a news conference yesterday in Washington.

“I wish all of us would curb our enthusiasm” and realize that some people who hear provocative messages “are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume,” she said.

Well, it worked in the Soviet Union. Kinda.

And if you think about it, the only way to keep all those "emotionally unstable" people calm is for elected officials to make all the decisions behind closed doors and without public approval or even awareness.
God forbid anyone get "worked up" over trivial things such as the economic infrastructure and legal as well as medical framework of the nation.
