In Which Age Finally Catches Up With Pat Buchanan...

Buchanan writes,

Why would the most liberal president since FDR wish to preside over the major surgery on the social safety net that must be done in the era of austerity we have entered? The liberal hour is over.

The left has yet to grasp that the nation has repudiating it as well as Obama. America has shifted to the right, which again raises the question of Obama's relevance. Why would our most liberal president since FDR want to lead the nation into an age of austerity?

I often see this in elderly Americans who wander the Mad Maxish streets of modern America still seeing Mayberry everywhere they look.

Americans are fundamentally and overwhelmingly leftists.
What they voted for in the recent election-go-round was to see implemented the policies they thought would best safeguard their beloved Orwellian welfare state.

Average middle-American, Red state -bible belt- Americans, are about 5 to 10 years away from putting up portraits of Karl Marx in their homes, right in between their Jesus and Martin Luther King shrines.
