Moral Relativism Worked...
Remember when radical leftists were pushing ideas like moral relativism and situation ethics?
Then remember how the same radical leftists now hold to and promote puritanical extremist left-wing “ethics” and morality?
The ideological offspring of Professors pushing moral relativism are Social Justice Warriors.
How can that be?
Because the Progressives/Marxists/Libtards lie about their aims and goals.
They are in an openly declared war against traditional life (decency, beauty, etc), and they operate under the banner of “the ends justify the means”.
So yes, moral relativism was an ideological weapon used to beat down the traditional, innate, notion of right and wrong in Western peoples. Or, at the least, cause them to question it.
The left never, ever, believed in moral relativism. Even those who aggressively promoted it found it objectionable and irrational.
But they knew it was an effective assault weapon on descent folk, so they sullied their hands and wielded it.
And the conservative response?
The statist right, both secular and religious, wasted countless hours (read decades) producing critiques (books, articles, documentaries, etc) of a left-wing belief that the left-wing never believed in in the first place.
The statist right spent their time conjuring up arguments that inevitably met moral relativism half way, conceding to at least some of its hypothesis.
Let that sink in.
The old-right’s political, religious and philosophical leadership actually found ways to rationalize some aspects of moral relativism (in an attempt to counter it), even as moral relativism’s proponents rejected the premise that moral relativism was in any way rational or defensible.
So yes, Moral Relativism worked. Because it was never meant to tear down morality. It was meant to tear down traditional morality so that globalist, progressive morality could fill the void.
And you can see the fruits today.
Read any statist conservative (secular or religious) and you will find the only fertile ground moral relativism found.
Which is why on any major, critical issue facing our civilization today, leftists will answer yea or nay while conservatives answer maybe/sorta/kinda.
